Toby Keith Drafted Will for Reported $400 Million Fortune Months After Revealing Cancer Diagnosis, Widow Reveals
Country music star Toby Keith, who revealed in June 2022 that he was battling stomach cancer, passed away on February 5. Following his death, court documents obtained by In Touch disclose that his widow, Tricia Covel, has filed to be named the administrator of his estate in Oklahoma. The singer has three adult children, Rashelle, Krystal, and Stelen, left behind an estimated net worth of $400 million.
Covel submitted Keith’s will and testament, which was executed on December 15, 2022. She also stated that Keith owned both real and personal property in Oklahoma. As the trustee of The Toby Keith Covel Revocable Trust, Tricia has taken steps to keep the majority of estate filings private, citing concerns for the family’s safety due to Toby’s celebrity status. The court has honored her request to seal these documents, emphasizing the confidentiality of Toby's business interests and the potential threats to the family's security.
Amidst the legal proceedings, Toby’s son Stelen posted a heartfelt tribute to his father on Instagram, highlighting his strength, passion, and the significant impact he had on his family and fans. He described Toby as a fighter and a true embodiment of the American spirit, emphasizing his father's legacy in the music industry and his role as a devoted father and husband. The probate case concerning Toby's estate continues to unfold, with the family striving to maintain their privacy during this period.
