O.J. Simpson dies of cancer at age 76, family says

O.J. Simpson, the former football star and actor, has passed away at 76 after battling prostate cancer. His life was marked by both achievements and controversy, notably the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.Simpson was acquitted in the criminal trial, but later found liable in a civil trial. 

Simpson first gained popularity as the Heisman Trophy winner for the University of Southern California in the 1970s, and public fascination with Simpson has never faded. His legacy includes his football career, acting roles, and the infamous Bronco chase and televised trial, which captivated the nation.
