Tom Brady worries wealth will keep his kids from growing up grounded: ‘Guys, this is not ... reality’

TombradyNFL quarterback, Tom Brady, who grew up in a middle class family, has raised concerns over his children being raised with extreme wealth. Brady, who recently divorced his wife of 13 years, Gisele Bündchen, shared a $26 million property portfolio among other lucrative assets.

Brady opened up on an episode of the “Drive with Jim Farley” podcast about how he hopes to keep his children grounded and teach them the value of hard work despite their family’s wealth. Other celebrities, like Warren Buffet, Kevin O’Leary, and Daniel Craig have publicly shared these concerns.

Brady shared that he encourages his children to understand different perspectives and expose them to “normal experiences” through athletics. This is a strategy that experts have agreed with. A 2019 study conducted at Brigham Young University found that adolescents that participate in youth sports have higher levels of parent-reported resilience and empathy.
