Singer Selena Gomez suffers from Lupus, a disease that causes many symptoms ranging from joint pain and inflammation to extreme fatigue. Another more serious possibility is kidney failure. Over the summer, doctors informed Gomez that the course of the disease was causing her kidneys to stop functioning and that she would need a transplant. Her best friend, Francia Raisa, serendipitously happens to have the exact same blood type and offered Gomez her kidney. Raisa had to write out a will before the operation. She said this was the moment when was fully aware that there was a chance that she would not survive.
