California Probate Code Chosen for First Wiki Test
A California state legislator is asking individual citizens for help in drafting an amendment to the Probate Code.
Assemblyman Mike Gatto (D-Los Angeles) is releasing an online Wiki to allow citizens “to draft a piece of legislation directly.” This process would be “the first purely crowdsourced piece of legislation in the United States. The Probate Code was selected as the first test of this new process because almost everyone has experience with the death of a loved one and are likely to have opinions on how laws could be improved.
