Trial and heirsAndrew W. Mayoras, a probate attorney, and Danielle B. Mayoras, an estate panning attorney, have published their book Trial & Heirs: Famous Fortune Fights! (Wise Circle Books 2009).

Trial & Heirs presents the estate planning blunders of celebrities like Rosa Parks, Jimi Hendrix, and Chief Justice Warren Burger as illustrations for what not to do.  In all, the stories of over 30 different celebrities are presented, making the book entertaining to read.

Trial & Heirs is more than entertaining, however.  The book is also educates the reader on will basics, trusts, avoiding a family dispute, and the importance of choosing a good executor. The celebrity stories illustrate why the substantive information is relevant to the reader.  Additionally, major points are summarized in easy-to-spot boxes titled "Avoid a Family Fight," and a short glossary of terms is provided in the back for quick reference.  After the reader has consumed 260 pages of information, the book concludes by providing a guide for choosing a good attorney to set up an estate plan.

Attorneys and casual readers alike should enjoy reading Trial & Heirs: Famous Fortune Fights!.  Moreover, the parade of horribles contained in the book should convince potential clients that estate planning is important.
