Articles Focus on Creative Solutions In Elder Law
The Elder Law and Consumer Protection Clinic at Penn State Law has published a new edition of Adventures in Law and Aging, Summer 2009, and it contains the following articles:
Katherine C. Pearson (Director of Elder Law and Consumer Protection Clinic, Penn State), Guardianship Reform: The Need for Creative Approaches to Fiduciary Support, at 1. This article discusses proposed guardianship changes in Pennsylvania, a state that currently does not provide "public" guardians for those who do not have family to fill this role.
Tatyana Chigirinsky (Certified Legal Intern), Creative Solutions: Designing a Progressive and Innovative Older Adult Transportation Alternative, at 2. This article discusses a national nonprofit transportation network where older adults who can no longer drive and live in rural or suburban areas are able to trade in their car for credits for transportation provided by volunteers.
