Any readers who find themselves in New York City in the coming weeks might be interested in a new Broadway production of a T&E-themed drama.  The Horton Foote play “Dividing the Estate” will be in previews at the Booth Theater beginning October 23, 2008.  It opens on November 20, 2008.  Here’s a description from one local(-ish) theater website:

Dividing the Estate, a human comedy about a family that must confront its past as it prepares for its future, opened to critical acclaim last fall at Primary Stages. Dividing the Estate's accolades include winning the 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play, and Horton Foote's 2008 Obie Award for Playwriting.

Stella Gordon has kept her hands on the family purse strings for years, but her grip is loosening as the purse is shrinking. The Gordons of Harrison, Texas, have enjoyed years of leisure, wealth and privilege, but things are about to change.

The New York Times's review of the show’s prior off-Broadway run is here.
