Colorado Estate Planning Treatise

Scott_bookPeter B. Scott and Karen L. Brady have recently published their treatise entitled Estate Planning and Taxation in Colorado.

Here is a description of this book:

In “Estate Planning and Taxation in Colorado” authors Peter Scott and Karen Brady provide an extensive discussion of gift, estate, and generation-skipping taxation in an easy-to-follow format, with many examples to clarify the tax principles discussed. Ample citations to the IRC, regulations, revenue rulings, private letter rulings, and cases are provided.

The book also surveys Colorado law on intestacy and wills and discusses planning for disability, an area often overlooked by clients. The various approaches to estate planning are covered, along with the professional responsibilities of practitioners, estate planning techniques for traditional and nontraditional families, and estate tax avoidance and minimization techniques used by seasoned estate planners.

This book serves as both an overview of estate planning under Colorado and federal law for new practitioners and a detailed reference guide for more experienced estate planners.
