Dow Jones and Murdoch Close to Final Terms
The terms of News Corp's offer for Dow Jones, as negotiated between representatives of Murdoch and Dow Jones, are expected soon. The New York Times published the accord to protect the Wall St. Journal's independence today, which provides for a special committee, comprised of independent community and journalistic leaders, who could block the hiring and firing of top editors, go to court to enforce the agreement, conduct internal investigations and publish the findings.
