New Hampshire Legislature Enacts Parental Notification Bill by Overriding Governor’s Veto

NewHampshire Republican lawmakers flexed their conservative might Wednesday, overrode Democratic Gov. John Lynch's objections and reinstated a requirement for pregnant girls seeking abortions to tell their parents or a judge first.

Lynch had vetoed the bill as unclear and too narrow. The House voted 266-102 to override followed by a 17-7 vote in the Senate. The bill becomes law Jan. 1. . . .
