Anti-Abortion Super Bowl Ad Stirs Controversy

Media Decoder (NY Times): Both Sides Making an Issue of Issue Ad on Super Bowl, by Stuart Elliott:

Football field CBS is feeling more heat — from both sides — on its decision to accept a commercial from the evangelical organization Focus on the Family that will run during Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7.

Although records are incomplete, it appears that the spot would be the first ad on a contentious issue to ever appear in a Super Bowl game.

In a news release earlier this month, Focus on the Family said the commercial would feature Tim Tebow, the college football star, and his mother, Pam Tebow, sharing a personal story in the vein of “Celebrate family, celebrate life.”
