As our nation grapples with a reckoning on racial justice issues, our legal system faces the related question of how to address words and terms with racially-charged origins. From terms like “grandfather clause” to “illegal alien,” is it time for legal writing to undergo “linguistic updating?”
"Should Legal Writing Be Woke?" is the theme of a webinar being hosted on May 25, 2021 by Scribes--The American Society of Legal Writers.
