Arkansas appellate cases going totally--and officially--online

A per curiam opinion issued this morning by the Arkansas Supreme Court announces that as of July 1, 2009, appellate opinions issued by that court and the Arkansas Court of Appeals will no longer be printed in official print reporters. Rather, the electronic versions of the courts' rulings posted on the Arkansas Judiciary website are declared to be the state's official reports.

The court is also getting rid of its former no-citation rule for unpublished decisions of the Arkansas Court of Appeals (as all opinions will now be electronically published).
