Sexting Draws Reported Disbarment

IdahoNews 2 reports

A lawyer from Boise has been disbarred from practicing law in Idaho by order of the Idaho Supreme Court for sexting his female clients. He is also currently standing trial for charges of rape in Bannock County.

Richard Aaron Morriss, also known as R. Aaron Morriss, was a lawyer with offices in Meridian. A Google search for his law group shows his offices are permanently closed.

Public records show he previously received an Interim Suspension in December 2023 before this ruling.

The Idaho Supreme Court found three separate women, who were clients of Morriss' legal practice, received unsolicited explicit photos from Morriss of himself. He also apparently sent "sexually suggestive and inappropriate messages" to the women. All three women had hired Morriss to represent them during custody hearings.

R. Aaron Morriss is charged with raping a victim who was asleep or unconscious and incapable of resisting. The Bannock County charges are dated back to Feb. 23, 2022. Morriss pled not guilty, and the jury trial began Tuesday morning in Bannock County.
