Twitter Termination

Twitter The Legal Ethics Blog has a post (a re-post of an ABA Journal story) related to an employee's termination following some inflammatory Tweeting.  A Deputy Attorney General in Indiana--conversing with a Mother Jones reporter--apparently Tweeted that police in Wisconsin should "use live ammunition" again demonstrators, who he considered "political enemies" and "thugs."  He also said "damned right I advocate deadly force." The AG's office subsequently fired the attorney for a failure to maintain civility.

The Legal Ethics Blog has a good discussion on some of the free speech issues, particularly with regard to the limits on claims by public attorneys.  The take:  the law's a mess in this area
