Grunewald Named Interim Dean at Washington & Lee

Grunewald Mark Grunewald, the James P. Morefield Professor of Law at Washington and Lee University, has been named interim dean of the W&L School of Law, effective July 1, 2010.  Washington and Lee's current dean, Rodney Smolla, is leaving to become president of Furman University in Greeneville, S.C.

Grunewald has been at W&L since 1976, and has taught and written widely in the areas of labor law, employment discrimination, employment law, and administrative law. He served as associate dean from 1992 to 1996 and as interim dean during the 1999-2000 academic year.
