Best of luck this week to competitors in the 33rd Annual Robert F. Wagner Labor and Employment Law Competition. The Wagner Competition is the nation’s largest student-run moot court competition and the only national competition dedicated exclusively to the areas of labor and employment law. The New York Law School Moot Court Association sponsors this competition in honor of the late United States Senator, Robert F. Wagner.
This year's Competition will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 through Sunday, March 15, 2009 at New York Law School. Here's the timetable:
- March 11, 2009 - Competitor check-in begins in the evening.
- March 12 - 13, 2009 - Preliminary Rounds held at New York Law School.
- March 14, 2009 - Advanced Rounds held at New York Law School. Annual Wagner Ball and Awards Ceremony held in a location to be announced.
- March 15, 2009 - Final Round held at New York Law School Steifel Reading Room. I hope the final round will be webcast like it was last year, but there's nothing on the NYLS website indicating this.
The issues this year involve reassingment under the ADA and the definition of supervisor under the NLRA.
I heard Team Chase in a practice round yesterday, and they're awesome.
