Lawyers Can Help Puerto Rico and Other Places Hit by Hurricanes
The American Bar Association Section of International Law was scheduled to meet next month in San Juan in a pre-meeting module just prior to its Fall Meeting in Miami. That meeting in San Juan has been postponed because of the recent hurricanes.
There are several initiatives regarding the different disaster relief efforts related to areas impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Here are two links for pages that show how lawyers can help out specifically. The first page is for the ABA Standing Committee on Disaster Response and Preparedness, which is committed to educating lawyers, bar associations, and the justice system to prepare for and respond to disasters. The second link is for the Young Lawyers' Division page on Disaster Legal Services.
Hat tips to Steve Richman and Max Trujillo.
