Trump’s Mass Deportation Plan Has One Major Vulnerability By Anjum Gupta and David Noll

Anjum Gupta and David Noll for Slate note that "a key question about [the] mass deportations [advocated by President Trump] is how the administration will contend with the need to hold hearings for individuals apprehended within the U.S."  That is a very good question.   The backlog in the immigration courts has been estimated to be in the millions.  My guess is that the new administration may expand expedited removal and remove noncitizens without immigration court hearings in  its "mass deportation" campaign.
