Immigrant of the Day: Cris Comerford (Philippines), White House Executive Chef (retired)

 

Our Immigrant of the Day is the recently retired White House’s executive chef.  She spent nearly three decades as the chef for five presidents and their families.

"Cris Comerford is the first woman to hold the job, and is also the first person of color to be executive chef. Her last day was Friday. First lady Jill Biden thanked her for her service in a statement on Tuesday. . . . 

A naturalized U.S. citizen and a native of the Philippines, [Comerford] was named executive chef in 2005."

I hope that Comerford's kitchen was less intense than that seen in the popular show The Bear.
