Alejandro Mayorkas Confirmed as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security
Today the Senate confirmed Alejandro Mayorkas as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Mayorkas will be the first Latino and immigrant to hold this position. During the Obama administration, Mayorkas served as Director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services, as well as Deputy Secretary of DHS.
