EOIR Director McHenry steps down

Jean King, chief administrative law judge and a career official at the Executive Office for Immigration Review agency that houses immigration courts, will take over for James McHenry beginning on Monday February 1. Among other changes, McHenry was responsible for instituting performance quotas on immigration judges that resulted in many retirements and concerns about the ability to respect the due process of immigrants appearing in court.
