Chad Wolf, Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Resigns

We posted to the blog last week that Chad Wolf, the Acting Secretary of DHS, was reportedly planning to remain in his post to ensure a smooth transition for the Biden administration. However, today he issued a letter to the Department resigning from his post, according to several news outlets. This makes him the third Cabinet member to resign after the riot at the US Capitol by Trump supporters.

CNBC quotes his resignation letter as explaining that he is resigning due to “recent events, including the ongoing and meritless court rulings regarding the validity of my authority as Acting Secretary.”
