After lengthy debate, the United Kingdom has left the European Union, which once held the promise of being a harbinger of regional global cooperation and free migration. Among other concerns, immigration to the UK contributed to the vote in favor of Brexit.
CNN reports that residents of a UK tower block have distanced themselves from a xenophobic poster in their apartment block directing residents to speak English following Brexit. Roger Blackwell told CNN "you don't want to give these people attention" after the "Happy Brexit Day" sign was seen on several fire doors in his building. He said he thought someone "energized" by Brexit and "probably a fascist" had put it up.
