Breaking News: Supreme Court Allows Trump Administration to Put New Public Charge Rule Into Effect

The Hill reports that the Supreme Court has stayed a nationwide injunction upheld by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that barred from going into effect the Trump administration's new "public charge" rule.   "The Supreme Court voted 5-4 along ideological lines to let the administration move forward with the proposal."  The Trump administration can now move forward with the rule.

Details to follow.

UPDATE (1:50 p.m. PST):  Here is the order.  Amy Howe on SCOTUSBlog summarizes the order and how the Justices divided, which is predictable.
