News release yesterday from No More Deaths

BREAKING: JURY ACQUITS NO MORE DEATHS VOLUNTEER  DR. SCOTT WARREN OF FELONY HARBORING CHARGES

TUCSON, AZ - This afternoon, after only two hours of deliberation, a jury returned not guilty verdicts on both counts of felony harboring in the felony re-trial of Dr. Scott Warren.  Dr. Warren faced charges for offering food, water, clothing and beds to two men in Ajo, Arizona. He was first tried in May of 2019, but a mistrial was declared after jurors split 8-4 for acquittal. In July, the US Attorney announced they would re-try the case.

With this outcome, No More Deaths has yet again withstood the government’s efforts to prosecute its work.

The government has failed in its attempt to criminalize basic human kindness.” - Dr. Scott Warren

Here is a story from The Guardian on the verdict.
