Another Democratic Presidential Candidate Takes Immigration Position, Calls for Reversal of Trump Policies
Tal Axelrod on the Hill reports that Democratic presidential candidate Jay Inslee ’s new immigration platform, which was released late last week, specifically targets President Trump ’s border agenda, vowing to end a slate of White House policies meant to curtail legal and illegal crossings into the U.S. The Washington governor called to reverse signature policies such as the construction of a border wall, the ban on immigration from several Muslim-majority countries and the cutting off of aid to key Central American nations. Rather than include many new ideas or original approaches, Inslee's proposal instead attacks the immigration measures of the Trump administration.
CNN's report on the immigration plan, which includes refugee admissions at the level administered by the Obama administration, is here.
Inslee joins candidates Beto O'Rourke and Julian Castro who also announced immigration plans, which have been featured on the ImmigrationProf blog.
