Fox Apologizes for Graphic: "Trump Cuts U.S. Aid to 3 Mexican Countries"
NBC reports on an interesting -- and reveling -- gaffe on Fox News. Earlier this week, Fox News issued an apology on Sunday for an on-screen graphic that mistakenly indicated President Donald Trump was reducing aid to "three Mexican countries."
During an early-morning segment on “Fox & Friends,” a full-width graphic at the bottom of the screen read: “Trump Cuts Aid to 3 Mexican Countries,” instead of conveying Trump’s statement that he is cutting foreign aid to three Central American countries: Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, due to the flow of migrants across the U.S. border with Mexico.
Of course, Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador are three separate countries. They are not "Mexican countries." However, some, including Fox it appears, see the three nations -- and presumably the people from those nations -- as one and the same
