Steve Breen is an editorial cartoonist for the San Diego Union Tribune. He's working on a new project: Drawn to America. It involves him going to Tijuana to meet with individuals in the migrant caravan and to learn about their experiences. He's drawing cartoons and interviewing folks along with a photographer/videographer. He's posted a short initial video and plans to do more trips.
Breen notes: "I’ve drawn plenty of cartoons over the years about immigration policy, but I hadn’t ever talked to an active asylum seeker." Now he has.
The goal of Breen's project is "to add a human dimension to a large and complex problem."
A laudable goal indeed!
