Laredo (Texas) Detention Center

Conditions at immigration detention facilities long have been criticized.  But here is a new variation on the story.

Two men held at a Laredo immigration detention center are undergoing treatments after they were bitten by bats. One man from Venezuela who is seeking asylum in the U.S. was bitten March 3. Details are sketchier on the other incident. Both are expected to undergo rabies treatments as a precaution.  Bat sightings have gotten so bad that guards have encouraged detainees to kill them if they get a chance.
