With John Kelly became President Trump's chief of staff, Elaine Duke became the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

Politico offers the following possibilities for appointment as the new Secretary:

1.  Rep. Michael McCaul, the Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.  McCaul champions border security.

2.  Thomas Homan, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

3.  Kansas Secretary of State Kris KobachOnce crowned by Newsweek as "America's Deporter in Chief," Kobach is running for Governor of Kansas.

4.  Attorney General Jeff Sessions.  Sessions seems an unlikely candidate in light of his very public conflicts with President Trump.

Fox News offers a similar list.

The lack of diversity on the list is striking.
