Pope Francis is visiting the United States this week.  (Here is the official schedule.).  In anticipation of his visit, 100 immigrant women, domestic workers, and faith and immigrants’ rights leaders, last week began a 100-mile journey by foot from Pennsylvania to Washington D.C. Their message to Pope Francis—who begins his visit to the U.S. on September 22—put immigration at the front and center of his meetings and address before Congress.

The 100 Women 100 Mile pilgrimage is getting media attention.  It is organized by the group We Belong Together.  The hope is to highlight the Pope's call for countries to have more compassion for immigrants. Pope Francis is expected to make it a major point during his US visit.
