Hillary Clinton for President!!??!!
Rumor on the street is that Hillary Clinton will soon announce that she is running for President, joining Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. Clinton has supported comprehensive immigration reform with a path to legalization for undocumented immigrants and President Obama's deferred action measures. She has focused more on border enforcement than some other Democratic leaders.
As first lady under President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton supported the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, a tough-on-immigration measure that expanded the grounds for removal, restricted judicial review, and restricted public benefit eligibility for immigrants. It was one of the toughest pieces of immigration reform legislation in decades.
In the primaries before the 2008 election, Clinton opposed undocumented immigrant eligibility for driver's licenses in New York.
Clinton voted for the original USA PATRIOT Act in 2001, as well as the revised version in 2006.
Immigrant rights and Latino activists reportedly have to this point reserved judgment on whether to support the Clinton candidacy.
