US, Mexico Presidents Meet -- Immigration, Border Security on Agenda

Today, President Obama is scheduled to meet with Mexico’s president. The meeting at the White House with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto will focus on Mr. Obama’s recent immigration action and border security. According to the Washington Times, "A senior administration official said Monday the leaders’ agenda will include finding ways “to avoid a renewed surge of migrants this year and to minimize the number of people who undertake this dangerous trip.” 

Vice President Biden also is scheduled to attend the meeting.

UPDATE (1/7):  The New York Times reported that the meeting appeared to go well, with the Mexican President complimenting President Obama on his immigration initiatives.  Click here for excerpts of the remarks made by th epresidents at the meeting.
