Breaking News: Supreme Court Declines to Review Hazleton, Farmers Branch Immigration Enforcement Ordinance Cases

Just minutes ago, the Supreme Court denied certiorari in two cases in which the lower courts had struck down in large part controversial immigration enforcement ordinances enacted in Hazleton, Pennsylvania and Farmers Branch, Texas.

Since the Court's 2012 decision in Arizona v. United States, which found that the core of Arizona's S.B. 1070 impinged on federal immigration law, it has not again revisited the question of federal preemption of state and local immigration enforcement measures.
