Latinos Lose in Shelby County v. Holder

Shelby_County_al_seal

This morning's decision in Shelby County v. Holder, which struck down Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act, is getting considerable attentionDownload Shelby county

News reports primarily focus on past discrimination against African Americans in Alabama.  But as the infamous H.B.56 immigration enforcement law proves, Latinos are moving to Alabama.  Shelby County claims to be the fastest growing county in Alabama and Latinos presumably are moving there.  My point -- Latinos are likely to be affected by the Court's invalidation of Section 4 in Alabama and other parts of the country, such as Arizona and Texas.
