Supremes to Hear Arguments In Arizona v. United States on April 25

The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Arizona v. United States on April 25. The Court granted cert in December in a case that promises to be the immigration blockbuster of the Court's 2011 Term. The basic question is whether the guts of Arizona's immigration enforcement law known as S.B. 1070 are preempted by federal law. The putcome in this case will kilely affect the fate of many other state immigration enforcement laws, including those in Alabama, Georgeia, South Carolina, and Utah.
