Arizona Hires Paul Clement to Defend Immigration Law
It was reported last week that Paul Clement, Solicitor General under President George W. Bush and former King & Spalding partner who left the firm after the controversy surrounding his agreement to represent the House of Representatives in defending the Defense of Marriage Act dropped the House as client a week later. has agreed to represent the state of Arizona in seeking review in the Supreme Court of the Ninth Circuit decision gutting most of S.B. 1070, the state's enforcfement-oriented immigration law. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer made the decision and announced that she hired Clement to handle Arizona's certiorari petition to the U.S. Supreme Court. Download BrewerSelectsAttorneyPaulClement[1]
