The Holiday Spirit? Some toy drives check immigration status

After years of studying immigration, I am rarely surprised by immigration news.  Still, I am surprised by a Houston Chronicle news report that some Houston charities that is checking the immigration status of children before giving them toys.  Sadly, some of the comments to the story are even meaner-spirited.   

This all makes the Grinch look like a good fellow!
