LAPD Chief: The LAPD fights crime, not illegal immigration

Bill_Bratton
The Los Angeles Police Department has long been known to be tough on crime.  In the name of law enforcement, outgoing chief of police William Bratton (see bio) states publicly thatlocal law enforcement should be separate from imm immigration enforcement by the federal government:  "Americans want solutions to our immigration dilemma, as do law enforcement officers across this nation. But the solution isn't turning every local police department into an arm of Immigration and Customs Enforcement."
