List of ICE detention facilities

For you immigrant detention buffs, here is, care of Bender's Imigration Bulletin, a list of ICE detention facilities as of June 18, 2008. It was obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by Kathleen Campbell Walker, partner in the El Paso office of Brown McCarroll.   Download ice20detention20facilities20618081.pdf

These detention facilities are a huge waste of taxpayer money. The United States has never seriously implemented its employer sanctions law. We need nationwide audits of all employers and well publicized prosecutions of selected owners and managers. The Postville and Mississippi raids are not the answer. If there are no jobs, there will be no illegal aliens to take the jobs, and, it follows, no need to build detention facilities in the first place. Attrition though enforcement is the most efficient tool in the immigration enforcement toolbox. Thank God the current economic problems will set comprehensive immigration reform back at least two to three years.

Hello, Are there any ICE detention centers in Northern California? Any thing near Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Napa? Sonoma County or Mendocino County or Lake County?
Thank you,
Tom
