On October 22-23, 2020, the AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition will host its first-ever virtual conference. Open to all who are interested in building connections across science, technology and human rights, the virtual format will include new opportunities for engagement. More information, including the agenda and registration, is available here.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Human Rights Coalition is a network of scientific and engineering membership organizations that recognize a role for scientists and engineers in human rights. Now more than ever, when science is being questioned at the highest levels of government, the AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition is engaged in critical efforts to improve human rights practitioners’ access to scientific and technological information and knowledge and to engage scientists, engineers and health professionals in human rights issues.
Conference panels of special interest to human rights lawyers include a plenary session on the Human Right to Science, a panel on the law and ethics of COVID-19 vaccine testing, a session on the physical sciences, human rights, and the SDGs, a keynote on climate change and human rights, and more!
