Justice Ginsburg Speaks: Brown v. Board and Human Rights
As the nation marks the 60th anniversary of the unanimous Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education, many forget the international context in which it was decided and its impact outside of the United States. In a speech at the University of Pretoria in 2006, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg reviewed these impacts and observed that Brown "both reflected and propelled the development of human rights protection internationally."
