Revamping Malawian Commodity Exchanges through Import Substitution – Wheat Being First Commodity

Brian Phiri Kampanje (Blantyre International University), Revamping Malawian Commodity Exchanges through Import Substitution – Wheat Being First Commodity (2023):

National Planning Commission undertook an important study on the Commodity Exchanges in Malawi in 2021 and this study used PESTLEE Analysis to further that work with a view that Malawi can explore Commodity Exchanges as catalysts for import substitution with wheat being the preferred commodity as there is substantial outflow of forex in Malawi while the country has the ability to produce good quality wheat if wheat futures would be established as the sole methodology for wheat trading in Malawi.
