Real Estate Market Complicating Divorce

From the Chicago Tribune:

Months after they agreed to split up, Jaimie and Michael Bolnick continued to live together as they tried to sell their house in Oakland, N.J.

"It was really hard," Jaimie Bolnick recalled. "You're living in the house and trying to stay out of each other's way. Mealtimes were awkward — are you sitting together as a family?"

The Bolnicks' house sale took a year, and is just one example of how a slow real estate market can complicate matters when a divorce forces a sale.

I agree. A slow real estate market can affect the way house sells. In these situations, the best thing to do is choose a real estate agent who is seasoned. By having someone with experience can certainly help 10 times over. A good agent will negotiate the best deal possible. I have seen some amazing things happen for both buyers and sellers. In particular, divorce situations. On the flip side, we have also struck great deals for those individuals getting married and starting a life together. They wanted the best deal…and we find them, typically from sellers who are represented by agents who do not know what they are doing.

My advice is to be selective. Don't settle for the first agent. Also, don't settle for someone just because you know them personally, or they are a friend of a friend. Do your homework. And, if you don't have time for that, let me find one for you in your area.

Real estate is sometimes looked over when it comes to a divorce. Children, pets, belongings, and real estate are all very real things to consider when getting a divorce. Thank you for shedding some light on the complexities of it all.

This is a common problem in Russia where housing permits are needed. I can't image how odd something like that would be. The real estate market is up and down, I hope we can all pull through.

Selling a house when you are in hurry is never easy. When you have time, you can plan your move, right from listing out property for sale to finding good prospects. I strongly believe, one should take help from realtors or estate agents for better deal.
