Eliot on Accomplice Liability and AI

Dr. Lance B. Eliot (Stanford Center for Legal Informatics) has posted The Legal Criminality Of Accomplice Liability Amid AI Exceptionalism on SSRN. Here is the abstract:
Get yourself ready to defend clients that have unleashed AI systems. You see, the AI is not likely to strictly adhere to legal uses. Some users might steer the AI into criminal acts. Though the original developer might assume they are scot-free, the long arms of the law can reach them via accomplice liability such as aiding and abetting. Be ready to invoke the legal principle of substantial unoffending purpose.
