Mohamed Elfar, Queen Mary - University of London offer a Case Note: Successful Private Damages Case in Egypt: Hewala Factory v Egyptian Co for Float Glass.
ABSTRACT: In an important private damages decision under the Egyptian Competition Law, the court has granted the plaintiff damages for the harm sustained because of anticompetitive practices committed by a defendant. The court has also clarified numerous legal points such as limitation periods, refusal to supply and the relation between civil actions and criminal actions.
