Lawsuit Against Solomon R. Geggenheim Foundation

Peggy GuggenheimIn 1979, Peggy Guggenheim bequeathed her home and huge art collection to the Solomon R. Geggenheim Foundation before her death. The foundation is located in New York and the lawsuit brought by seven of her descendants is seeing its day in court in France. The descendents are claiming that the foundation is not honoring the wishes of Guggenheim.

See Doreen Carvajal, Fight Over Guggenheim’s Legacy Roils Her Palazzo, The New York Times, May 7, 2014.

Special thanks to Joel Dobris (Professor of Law, UC Davis School of Law) for bringing this article to my attention.
