Export the Elderly?

Exporting

A recent BBC News article describes how a Swiss daughter decided to send her 91-year-old mother to a care home in Thailand.  She reasoned that because her mother has dementia, she will be happy in Thailand and well-taken care of where quality care is much more affordable.

The cost of private elder care in Switzerland is as expensive as elder care in the U.S.  If we can’t afford to pay for ourselves, our children, and our aging parents, could exporting our elders be a solution?
